Fatal Hit Run – Paradise (18-96)
At 6:40 am Sunday 13th May 2018, an elderly man was crossing Darley Road at the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Lower North East Road, when he was struck by a white Toyota Camry sedan travelling north on Darley Road. The Camry then stopped just north of the intersection for a few seconds, reversed a few metres, then drove off north along Darley Road. As a result of the collision, the elderly man was knocked to the ground and sustained serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, but subsequently died as a result of these injuries.
A Honda CRV was behind the Camry when it struck the man and also stopped for a few moments when the Camry stopped and reversed. There were also other vehicles stopped at or driving through the intersection when the collision occurred. Police would like to speak to the drivers of these vehicles or any witnesses to the collision.
