Murder – Martin Meffert (16-128)
On Thursday, 24th October, 2013 police located the incomplete skeletal remains of Martin Meffert, aged 32 years, within a bag inside a Packer Street, Terowie address. A person related to Martin Meffert was the occupant of the address. Up until this time Martin had not been reported as a missing person. Police believe Martin was most likely murdered in 2005 and his body initially buried, but the partial skeleton was later retrieved and kept inside the house where it was located. Martin was last seen in February 2005 when he took a bus from Adelaide to Terowie.
At the time of his death he was in receipt of a disability pension which was paid into his bank account. Between 2005 and 2013 Martin Meffert’s bank account continued to be drawn upon. Police have CCTV footage of the below two persons accessing Martin’s bank account and would like to speak to these persons.
Police suspect Martin Meffert has been murdered.
