14-19 Serious Criminal Trespass – Theft – Deception – Adelaide

Police need help to identify three males who stole credit card details from a hotel in Adelaide, then used the victim’s details to obtain goods to the value of at least $3,000.

At about 11.50 pm on Wednesday (Christmas Day), 25th December, 2013, the above three males entered a hotel on Frome Street, Adelaide and spoke with the receptionist.  The receptionist was told they had previously stayed in one of the rooms and had left a phone charger behind.  The receptionist closed up the front desk, which had a metal security cage and went to the lost property area.  Whilst the receptionist was gone the three males removed the metal security cage and stole a box of registration cards of approximately 20 people, who were staying in the hotel at the time.  The registration cards contained personal information including their credit card details.

On the following day on Thursday (Boxing Day), 26th December, 2013, some of these credit card details were then used to make unlawful purchases at three different stores throughout Adelaide, spending at least $3,000.  The same three males are captured on CCTV at one of the transaction locations, being the Metro Convenience Store, in Hindley Street, Adelaide.

The three males are described as:

1.   25-30 years, 170 cm (5’7"), fit, tanned skin and Lebonese, wearing a silver chain, black t-shirt, light coloured pants and black baseball cap

2.   25-30 years, 175 cm (5’9"), tanned skin, Iraqui, well kept facial hair and spoke fluent Arabic, wearing a white basketball singlet

3.   25-30 years, 180 cm (5’11"), fit build, white skin, Argentinian and broad shoulders, wearing a basketball top and carrying a backpack
