14-34 Assault To Cause Harm – Tea Tree Gully

 

Police need help to identify a male who assaulted another male at Tea Tree Gully.

At about 2.11 am on Wednesday, 1st January, 2014, the victim was seated next to the suspect on a C1 or C2 bus travelling from the city to Tea Tree Plaza interchange, engaged in conversation.  The bus pulled into the interchange and both alighted.  The victim followed the suspect, crossing the pedestrian crossing on the eastern side of the interchange to walk up the pathway towards the Tea Tree Gully TAFE.  Still engaged in conversation the suspect turned and assaulted the victim by punching him to the face, knocking him unconscious to the ground.  The victim woke up and walked home, but his condition deteriorated and he was taken to hospital.  The victim suffered a subdural haematoma and was treated for life threatening injuries in hospital over the next 10 days.  He has since recovered.

The male is described as:  40 years, 5’10” (177 cm), average build, Southern European appearance, thin short dark hair and Australian/Southern European accent, wearing a grey/blue polo style short sleeved shirt, black pants and black shoes.
