15-23 Theft – Campbelltown

Police need help to identify a male who used a credit card that had been left in an ATM to steal money.

At about 1.55 pm on Friday, 12th December, 2014, the victim attended the foyer area of the Commonwealth Bank at 624 Lower North East Rd, Campbelltown and used the ATM to deposit cash.  The victim was then distracted by a phone call on their mobile telephone and walked away from the ATM leaving their credit card still in the ATM with the account screen still open.  The above pictured male, who was the next customer in line and waiting behind the victim, then seized the opportunity to withdraw $1,000 in cash from the victim’s account from the ATM.

The male is described as:  mid forties, medium build, Caucasian, with straight scraggly blonde receding hair and clean shaven, wearing a blue/green t-shirt with dark blue horizontal chequered pattern across the lower back torso, white/cream shorts with a black swirl marking on the right rear pocket, black socks, walking or builders shoes and black armed spectacles.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Provide Info Online button at the top of the page.
