Arson – Noarlunga Centre (20-06)

At about 11.18 am on Friday, 19th April, 2019 (Easter Friday) the pictured male was sighted on CCTV walking east from the Burgess Drive underpass on the top walkway of Ramsay Walk at Noarlunga Centre.  The male walked towards the BankSA building area, situated on the north west corner of the Colonnades Shopping Centre.  The male walks out of sight of the CCTV for a brief time before emerging shortly after and exiting quickly via the same route.  After a few moments flames start to emerge from a tree on the embankment between the top walkway and Ramsay Walk, near the underpass to the train station.  Fire engulfs approximately 25 square metres of vegetation on the embankment and begins engulfing the roof structure of the BankSA building.  MFS arrive and extinguish the fire before it takes hold of the building.  As a result of the fire a street lamp, downpipes and guttering were destroyed, with the approximate damage being $10,000, however could have been more if the fire had taken hold of the building.

The male is described as:  approximately between 15 and 25 years, average height, medium build, Caucasian, with short straight dark red/light brown hair, wearing white sneakers, green/grey pants and a maroon hooded jumper with white cords for the hood.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, report online or via the App.
