Rewards up to $200,000 will be paid by the Government of South Australia, at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police, to anyone who provides information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the suspected murder of Jeffrey John May.

On 29 December 1982 Jeffrey May, aged 19 years, was located on the concrete floor below the tramway bridge over the Sturt Creek at Glengowrie. He had died as a result of a fall from the bridge.
Investigations revealed that Mr May and his friends were set upon by a group of persons and Mr May was assaulted on the tramway bridge while trying to escape. As a result of the assault he fell to the concrete creek bed below and died.
