The disappearance of Joanne Ratcliffe, aged 11 years, and Kirste Gordon, aged 4 years, is one of the state‰’s most notorious crimes.

Joanne and Kirste attended a football match at the Adelaide Oval on 25 August 1973. There was a substantial crowd in attendance. The girls had left the Edwin Smith stand to go to the toilet. A short time later when they had not returned Mr Ratcliffe had gone looking for them. The girls have not been seen or heard of since.
