Murdered
Phyllis Harrison, aged 75 years, was found murdered in the kitchen of her home at Harvey Road, Elizabeth South at about 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday 3 March 1998. She had been stabbed numerous times. Mrs Harrison was a widow who had lived at the address for the last 40 years. She resided there alone after the death of her husband. She was well known in the community and was a foundation member of the Elizabeth Grove Uniting Church, and a member of the Elizabeth Bowling Club. Mrs Harrison was an independent person who drove herself around the district. She was known in the immediate area where she regularly walked her dog. Mrs Harrison was last seen walking her dog the night before her murder, near her Harvey Road home, at about 7.45 p.m. Mrs Harrison was particularly security conscious with deadlocks, security shutters and sensor lights fitted to her home. These were undisturbed suggesting she either let her killer inside or she had not had time to re-secure her house after arriving home from walking her German Shepherd.
As at 25 June 2020, a person has been arrested and charged in relation to this matter and is now before the Courts. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1 800 333 000, on-line, via the App or email an investigator.
