CASE PROFILE – Annabel Strzelecki

Posted on 05/06/2021

On 5 June 1998, Annabel Strzelecki met with friends at her home in Clare.

The 28-year old has not been seen by them since.

Mrs Strzelecki’s husband told police that she left the house late on the night of 5 June 1998 in company with a man and a woman he had never met before after a confrontation with him. No evidence was found to support that claim.

He later indicated to someone that he had killed her and disposed of her body in the far north of the state.

The couple had lived in area since 1989, having married in the Philippines when Annabel was 19 years old.

Her husband Wlodzimierz Strzelecki was a person of interest for her disappearance and suspected murder. The 73-year-old took his own life two years after his wife’s disappearance.

Further information is sought in this matter, including information that would lead to the recovery of Mrs Strzelecki’s remains.

A reward of up to $200,000 is on offer for information that leads to a conviction in this case or the recovery of the victim’s remains.
