The mysterious unsolved death of Liet Van Duong

Liet Van Duong was last seen alive on 26 October 1984 in Whyalla.

The 36-year old’s body was later found on 1 December 1984 in a shallow grave in scrubland near Whyalla.

The cause of death was not established and could not exclude natural causes.

The Mr Duong’s partner was arrested and tried for offences relating to the disposal of the body and was convicted.

That conviction was later quashed on appeal.

A reward of up to $200,000 remains on offer to anyone who provides information leading to a conviction in the case.
