Aggravated Assault Bus – Modbury

At about 3.00pm on 30th March 2022 the bus driver who is the victim in this matter was driving the 361 bus route when he stopped on the southern side bus stop 42A, which is located on Smart Road, Modbury to pick up passengers.

A man has boarded without wearing a mask when the victim has challenged the suspect, requesting him to put a mask on. A verbal altercation has occurred which has resulted in the bus driver handing the man a face mask. As the man approached the bus driver he reached around the plastic protective barrier hitting the bus driver in the face with an open hand, ripping the victims face mask from him before throwing it onto the ground. The bus driver sustained minor lacerations to the left side of his face.

The man is described as Caucasian male, slim build about 170cms tall about 70kg in weight, clean shaven with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a long sleeve maroon hooded jumper, grey shorts, an orange and white baseball cap, carrying a green material shopping bag.
