Posted on 23/11/2021

At about 1.30 am on Sunday, 19th September, 2021, police attended a house fire in Lambert Avenue, West Lakes Shore.  The Metropolitan Fire Service established that the fire was suspicious and was suspected to have been ignited from the side brush fence of the property.  The fire spread and engulfed the entire house resulting in over $400,000 worth of damage and loss of personal possessions.  A family of five were present inside the house at the time of the fire.  A fifteen year old boy was asleep in his bedroom which faced the side brush fence and sustained burns to his arms as he fled from the fire.  He was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital to treat his burns.

CCTV footage shows the above pictured male walking and running in the area around the time of the fire.

The male is described as having a medium build, wearing dark baggy clothing, sneakers and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the house fire or who can help identify the pictured male is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, report online or via the App.
