13-58 Op Unification – Illicit Firearms
Police need help from the public to locate illicit firearms.
Op Unification, a Crime Stoppers Australia initiative relating to illicit fireams, commenced on the 24th May, 2013 for a two week period until the 7th June, 2013. This operation is being conducted Australia wide and aims to get illicit firearms out of the hands of criminals. Illicit firearms are weapons that are illegally imported or manufactured in Australia, stolen from registered owners and, or may be used in criminal activities. Op Unification is a follow on from two recent successful SAPOL initiatives: Op Disarm and last year’s gun amnesty.
