16-07TV Aggravated Robbery – ANZ Bank Lobethal
At about 8.49 am on Friday, 17th April, 2015, the pictured male approached a staff member of the ANZ Bank, at 54 Main Street, Lobethal, as he arrived for work, threatened him with a knife and stated he had a firearm. The male directed the staff member to hold a small silver box which he said contained an explosive device and stated he had a second device attached to his body. The male directed the staff member to enter the bank where they waited for another two bank members to arrive. An amount of money was stolen. Of particular note is that the male stated he needed money because his father was sick. The male fled in a stolen blue Holden Commodore sedan which was later found in Kleinschmidt Road, Lobethal.
The male is described as: in his forties, 165 cm (5’5″), medium build, Asian appearance, dark thick eyebrows and has a strong accent. The male was disguised and was wearing a high visibility long sleeve shirt, hood, sunglasses and face masks.
