Aggravated Assault and Theft – Mawson Lakes (20-61)

        

At about 11.37 pm on Thursday, 30th April, 2020, the male victim was walking along Capital Street, Mawson Lakes, towards Metro Parade, when the two pictured males approached him asking if he was a ‘blood’ or a ‘crip’.  The victim did not know what the two males were talking about and kept walking.  One of the males, holding meat carving scissors, kicked the victim in the left hip, then hit him with an open hand to the left eye and punched him with a closed fist to the nose.  The males then told the victim to turn around and walk otherwise he would be stabbed.  The victim has a sore hip, swelling and soreness to his left eye and cheek bone and soreness to the bridge of his nose.  The two males then walked into the OTR Service Station at Mawson Lakes and began taking items off the shelves and from the fridge.  The store assistant could see the two males acting suspiciously and advised them they could be seen on security cameras.  One of the males advised the store assistant they would pay for their items.  They were in the store for a short time and then walked out of the store failing to pay for the items.

Both males are described as:

• Mid twenties, 5’5″ (165 cm), Asian appearance and both have thick scraggly hair about an inch in length, with one male wearing a red hooded jumper over his head and the other male was wearing a grey and black jumper
