At about 12.30 pm on Thursday, 30th August, 2018, the victim, a Loss Prevention Officer, was working at Coles Port Adelaide, which is located in the Port Adelaide Plaza, at 220 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide, when they became suspicious of the pictured female customer within the store.  The female customer was observed selecting several items and then leaving Coles without paying for these items.  The Loss Prevention Officer approached the female in the car park of Coles and after identifying themselves they requested the stolen items be returned.  The female reached into her bag and produced a canister which she then sprayed an unknown substance on the Loss Prevention Officer.  The Loss Prevention Officer suffered pain and a burning feeling to their face and eyes, which took about thirty minutes to recover from and required medical treatment.  The female subsequently left the area with the stolen items.

The female is described as:  in her twenties, 5’6″ (167 cm), solid build and Caucasian, wearing black Adidas tracksuit pants, black t-shirt and a sleeveless vest, carrying a Nike shoulder bag
