Aggravated Break In – Retirement Village – St Morris

09/22TV – Police need help to identify the owner of a mountain bike and helmet that was left at the scene of a break in and assault of an elderly Retirement Village resident at St Morris. At 9.45pm on Sunday February 22 2009 a lone male entered the Retirement Village on Gage St armed with a metal pole. When confronted by an elderly resident the man hit him in the head with the metal pole before covering him with a quilt. The elderly male managed to leave the premises whilst the attacker was still inside. The male responsible for the attack left the scene without his mountain bike which is described as a TREK 3700 model, serial number TBI 0406CB3DM661, silver / yellow frame with black forks, side stand and distinctive ‘Specialized’ slick tyres. The helmet with the Mountain Bike is described as a ‘D&W – Cyclid’ brand, dirty yellow in colour with stripes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
