Aggravated Robbery – New Deli Snack Bar / Lucky Asian Grocery – Prospect / Kilburn

09/29TV – Police need help to identify a man who committed two Aggravated Robberies in the space of 30 minutes. At 5.55pm on Monday June 1 2009 a male entered the ‘New Deli’ Snack Bar on Churchill Rd Prospect. At the time he was armed with a hammer and threatened staff while demanding cash. The store owner refused to hand over any money and the very agitated man smashed a glass counter with the hammer before leaving. At 6.30pm on the same day the same male went into the ‘Lucky Asian Grocery’ on Prospect Rd Kilburn. This time he was armed with a screw driver, threatened, chased and assaulted terrified staff before they handed over an amount of money. The man is described as Caucasian, 20-30 years old, slim build, about 178cms tall, short dark hair and he was clean shaven. At the time he was wearing a dark jacket with a stripe down the arms, dark tracksuit pants with two white stipes running down the outside of each leg which become one large stripe from the shin down, dark sneakers and a baseball cap with distinctive yellow and red flames on the peak. He had in his possession a claw hammer and screwdriver during the robberies. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
