Anthony Wesley Stone
REWARD: A South Australian Government Reward for up to $200,000 has been offered for information leading to the apprehension/convictions of the person or people responsible for this murder.
At about 2.45 p.m. on 12 October 1989, Anthony Stone, aged 34 years, was an inmate at the Yatala Labour Prison. He was present in the yard during a meeting with approximately 90 other prisoners. During this meeting Mr Stone was fatally stabbed with a knife believed to have been removed from the prison kitchen.
A fellow inmate was subsequently arrested and charged with Mr Stone’s murder. This charge was later withdrawn. This person remains the suspect in this matter. Further evidence is required before a fresh murder charge can be laid.
