Fatal Boat Collision – Swan Reach (20-58)
On Friday, 22nd February, 2019 a group of seven men came together at a campsite on the River Murray near Swan Reach. That night after dark, at about 10.00 pm, the group decided to go for a river cruise. Two dinghy type boats were taken on this late night cruise. The boats were travelling downstream and at some point a collision occurred between the two boats which ultimately resulted in the death of Chad Gill a 37 year old and seriously and permanently injuring Glen Justice a 42 year old. Berri CIB has commenced Operation Veritas to continue to investigate this incident with the potential of further arrests to occur.
Investigators are requesting any witnesses who may have seen the collision OR anyone who had been in the Swan Reach area at the time of the incident OR anyone who has any information about this matter to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, report online or via the App.
