KNOW THE SCAM – Cyber Scams
South Australia Police have produced a new scam website located at https://www.police.sa.gov.au/your-safety/scams-and-cybercrime to make the community more aware of the evolving techniques that scammers are using and adopting. One such scam is where scammers are requesting payment via cryptocurrencies and then spoofing (altering) their caller identification to misrepresent and impersonate police and accountants.
Anyone with information about scams or scammers are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, report online or via the App.
