Tadeusz (‘Ted’) Ligas

Rewards up to $200,000 will be paid by the Government of South Australia, at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police, to anyone who provides information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the suspected murder of Tadeusz ‘Ted’ Ligas.

At 5.50 a.m. on Thursday 30 August 2012 neighbours reported a house fire at East Avenue, Black Forest. The house was destroyed. The sole occupant of the address, Tadeusz (‘Ted’) Ligas, was not at home at the time and neither was his vehicle.

At 6.50 a.m. that same morning neighbours reported a vehicle fire at the rear of a block of flats at Jervois Street, Torrensville. Metropolitan Fire Service attended and upon extinguishing the fire located the body of a male person gagged and bound in the rear of the vehicle. The body was identified as that of Mr Ligas.
