Theft & Deception Scrap Metal – Cavan
09/08-TV Police are seeking the help of the public to identify a male person who has committed the offences of theft and deception. During September, 2008 the offender has arranged for several crane companies to attend addresses around Adelaide to collect large amounts of steel. These crane companies then take the steel to various scrap metal outlets on behalf of the offender. The suspect then attended the scrap metal yards and collects large sums of money in payment for the steel. On Saturday, 27th September, 2008, a steel company received over 60 tonnes of steel from several crane companies, all of which were organised by the same suspect. The suspect gave bogus details to both the crane companies and the scrap metal companies. The offender is described as male, 25-35 years of age, Caucasian or Southern European appearance, approximately 177cm to 182 cm, short black hair with a rats tail 10cm to 15 cm long, muscular build and approximately 90kg. He speaks confidently with an Australian accent.
