Aggravated assault – Mitchell Park

Around 10am on Thursday, 13 March 2025, a man was walking along David Avenue at Mitchell Park when he was suddenly attacked by another man armed with a hockey stick.

The victim suffered a fractured eye socket and cuts to his head, and needed surgery in hospital.

The suspect was standing on the footpath with a woman before the assault. After the incident, the offender rode off on a mountain bike and the woman walked away on foot.

CCTV imagery of the man has been released in the hope that someone in the community can help identify him.

He is described as being of Aboriginal appearance and was wearing dark clothing. The woman is also described as being of Aboriginal appearance.
