CASE PROFILE – Josef Dressler

On 3 March 1966 Josef Dressler was shot and killed at the Hendon Hotel on Tapleys Hill Road.

The 43-year old was living at the Hotel when he disturbed two intruders who had broken in during the early morning.

It was during a brief altercation when he confronted the pair that Mr Dressler was shot and killed.

One male was arrested for the shooting, but the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions discontinued the charge.

A second suspect was identified, but is now deceased.

A reward of up to $200,000 is on offer to anyone who provides information that leads to a conviction in this case.
