Drug crime and the law teaching pack now available

Posted on 22/06/2023

We are very excited to share the news about the latest theme pack in our national teachers’ resource, which is free to educators and specially developed to support teaching Civics & Citizenship.

The Drug Crime and the Law theme pack provides flexible content and lesson ideas, resources and assessments so teachers can choose lesson ideas in any order to best suit the interest and needs of their students.

There are more than 35 different links to videos, websites, apps and worksheets within the latest pack that cover:

  • Drug trafficking
  • Drug crime and the law
  • Knowing the signs of illegal drug manufacture, supply and distribution
  • What can I do to help?

Our suite of 8 free Civics & Citizenship teaching resources have been developed by education experts to help Year 7-10 students have a positive attitude towards their role in society and deliver on the needs of teachers to have high quality, Australian curriculum aligned materials.

We are particularly proud that the various themes and resources have been developed to support key concepts in the Australian and Victorian Curriculum (Humanities and Social Sciences) namely; Democratic Values, The Westminster System, Justice, Participation, and Rights and Responsibilities.

As an independent charity, we’ve funded this initiative because we recognise the importance of encouraging a sense of community engagement in students by increasing their potential to be informed, responsible, ethical and active participants in society.

Each theme pack – including Drug Crime and the Law – can be downloaded as a pdf or accessed at our online Education Hub here (or via Scootle).
