Aggravated Robbery – Cavan Hotel Dry Creek (19-68)
At about 7.05 am on Tuesday, 16th July, 2019, the two pictured masked males entered the Gaming Room of the Cavan Hotel, at 2 Cavan Road, Dry Creek and forced their way into the cashier section. The males attempted to gain access to the safe room by kicking the door, but were unsuccessful. The males then stole coins from the cashier area before running from the hotel. One male was believed to be armed with a tyre iron. No injuries were reported by any staff. The two males were seen to enter and leave the hotel in the pictured white Hyundai Elantra, with a black roof, which was last seen travelling north on Port Wakefield Road, Dry Creek. The vehicle was identified as a white Hyundai Elantra that was stolen during a Serious Criminal Trespass on Monday, 15th July, 2019 at Mawson Lakes. The stolen Hyundai was recovered by police on Sunday, 21st July, 2019 at Northfield.
The male suspects are described as:
- Male, approximately 180 cm (5’11”) and slim build, wearing dark tracksuit pants, dark hooded jumper with white Puma logo on chest and a red face covering
- Male, approximately 170-175 cm (5’7″-5’9″) and heavy build, wearing dark tracksuit pants, dark hooded jumper and a black face covering
