Aggravated Robbery – The Bartley Tavern and Feathers Hotel (17-50)
At about 1.25 am on Tuesday, 17th January, 2017 a male entered through the front door of The Bartley Tavern on Bartley Terrace, West Lakes Shore. He approached the counter of the pokies bar brandishing a small handgun. He demanded money from the staff who placed it into a blue drawstring bag. He then left the hotel through the front doors.
The male is described as: possibly early twenties and 180 cm (5’11”), with nil facial features visible due to face covering being worn, wearing a black hoody zipped up with hood up, black gloves with white pattern, black scarf or bandana around the face, baseball cap with brown peak, blue jeans and blue Asics shoes with orange patterns on the side
At about 1.25 am on Sunday, 22nd January, 2017 a male entered the gaming room of the Feathers Hotel on Glynburn Road, Burnside. He was armed with a black firearm and threatened staff. He left the hotel through the rear carpark on foot with a sum of money that was stashed inside a black bum bag.
The male is described as: mid thirties, 170 cm (5’7″), tanned skin and blue eyes, wearing a black hooded jumper with a ‘Lonsdale’ logo on the chest, baseball cap with what appears to be ‘Los Angeles’ on the peak, blue latex/washing up gloves and a white skull mask covering the lower portion of his face
Staff were not physically harmed during either robbery.
Police believe that the same person is responsible for both robberies.
