Aggravated robbery – Port Augusta West

Can you identify this person?

At about 4.30am on Tuesday 26 May 2026, a man armed with an axe smashed his way into the OTR at Port Augusta.

The man allegedly used the axe to smash the front door before jumping the counter and stealing a quantity of tobacco products and the cash register.

Staff fled after being confronted by the man, who then left on foot, jumped a rear fence into a neighbouring property and headed towards Burgoyne Street, Port Augusta West.

The stolen cash register was later found nearby, partially buried in a pile of grass clippings.

Police are seeking information that may help identify the person shown in this vision.

Suspect description:
Male, slim build, approximately 5ft 6in tall, wearing a black mask and white gloves. The axe is described as approximately 35cm long with a red handle.
