Aggravated Serious Criminal Trespass and Theft – Smithfield

Posted on 10/12/2024

About 5.30am on Sunday, 4 August 2024, an electronics store on Main North Road at Smithfield was broken into and numerous tv’s were stolen.

CCTV captures a white van pull up to the rear loading bay of the store and two people exit the vehicle. One person appears to act as a look out while the second person uses an angle grinder to cut a hole in the roller door to gain access to the store. Six tv’s were stolen during the break-in.

Police have released CCTV in a bid to identify the suspects.

Suspect 1 is described as a Caucasian male, who was wearing a Raiders baseball cap, grey mouth/nose covered mask, grey hoody, dark coloured pants, light Air Jordan sneakers and light coloured work gloves.

Suspect 2 is described as having darker pants, a light coloured jumper and a mask covering his face.

The pair were in a white Mercedes Sprinter van with damage to the rear left quarter panel, faded writing to the rear doors (old business name or similar).

Anyone who recognises the suspects or the van or has information that may assist with the investigation can contact Crime Stoppers. You can anonymously provide information to Crime Stoppers online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au or freecall 1800 333 000. Please quote reference 24-152TV.
