Deception – Mount Barker

Posted on 09/02/2026

In April 2025, a handbag and contents were stolen from an elderly lady in Mount Barker. It was later discovered that one of her stolen bank cards was used to withdraw cash at an ATM in Strathalbyn. Records show that the woman in the footage used the victims’ card to withdraw large amounts of cash via the ATM. She arrived in a red hatchback vehicle and was wearing a distinctive jacket. Police have been unable to identify the suspect in their investigations.

The suspect is decribed as a Caucasian female with short brown hair and large build. At the time she was wearing a grey top, jeans and bright coloured shoes. She was also wearing a distinctive jacket with a hood.

Anyone who recognises the female or has any other information can anonymously contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at https://crimestopperssa.com.au
