Robbery – Gawler
Posted on 03/12/2024
Just before 3am on Tuesday, 3 September, police were called to the hotel in Cowan Street, Gawler after reports that two armed men had entered the gaming room and threatened staff. The pair stole money and then fled the scene. CCTV shows one of the men was armed with a firearm and the other was carrying a knife.
The suspects left in a black Mercedes 4-door sedan which had a white interior, which was driven by a third person who didn’t get out of the car. A stolen black Mercedes sedan, believed to be the one involved in this robbery, was later located burnt out on Oates Road at Ward Belt around 5.30am on Wednesday, 4 September.
Suspect 1 is described as a male, armed with large silver bladed knife. At the time he was wearing black pants, black shoes and Blue Adidas zip up hoodie, which had three white stripes along sleeves and square adidas logo in centre of back with a small adidas logo on the left chest. This male wore a white shirt under the hoodie which was pulled up to conceal his face and he also had a black mask under the shirt which was covering his mouth and nose. He wore black gloves, which had a yellow label on the top wrist area of the left glove. This suspect was holding a beige hessian Coles bag with black strap handles. The CCTV shows silver duct tape wrapped around his ankles and sleeves.
Suspect 2 is described as a caucasian male. He was armed with a firearm, which appears to be a homemade sawn off single barrel rifle/shotgun. This suspect was wearing a black shiny jacket with a zip pocket on the left sleeve. He wore a black hooded jumper under the jacket, navy adidas track pants and grey Asics sneakers. He had a green face mask or balaclava which covered his full face other than the bridge of his nose and eyes. He gloves were black on the underside and white on top side. He also had silver duct tape on his ankles and wrists to stop exposure of skin.
