Serious criminal trespass, theft and property damage – Modbury

About 2.45am on Monday 26 January 2026, police responded to reports of a break-in at the Clovercrest Shopping Centre on Montague Road. The thieves had fled prior to police arrival.

CCTV footage shows three suspects gaining entry to the shopping centre and then using an angle grinder to access the Smoke Mart store, where they stole a large quantity of tobacco.

One male suspect was wearing a dark long sleeve hooded top, blue gloves and red shoes. Another male suspect was wearing a black and white long sleeved Adidas top with the hood up, black gloves, long black pants and black shoes. The third male suspect was wearing a hooded black long sleeve top, light coloured long pants, blue gloves and was carry a large material bag. All males wore face masks.
