The hunt for Carlene’s killer, 27 years on.
Posted on 06/09/2019
Father’s Day in 1992 remains etched in SA history for all the wrong reasons.
As families right across that state celebrated with loved ones, it turned into tragedy for the family of Carlene Ward.
It was about 11.30pm on Sunday 6 September 1992 when the 35-year old was found murdered in the main bedroom of her house in Armstrong Avenue, Parafield Gardens.
She was found by her 16-year-old son who lived with Carlene, and had been bashed and stabbed – with several weapons used during the attack.
Today it remains one of South Australia’s most baffling murders, with her killer still roaming free in the community.
A reward of up to $200,000 is on offer to anyone who provides information leading to a conviction in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
